Ali Qapu Palace

Ali Qapu Palace rises on the western side of Naqsh-e Jahan Square as the ceremonial gateway and elevated reception pavilion of the Safavid court. From its terraces, the shah could oversee ceremonies and polo games in the square below.

The palace is celebrated for its music hall with intricate stucco work designed to enhance acoustics, and for its layered rooms that once served administration and royal hospitality.
